Guido organized a pleasant and informative journey in the countryside. We traversed land that 200 million years ago was a sea and we found fossil remains of shells in our journey. His knowledge was extensive and I appreciated his passion for Toscana.
We visited il mulino del Romitoro and then Torrente Fusola.
It was a magnificent afternoon and I cannot say enough good things about Guido. His preparation and choice of terrain was absolutely perfetto.
My wife and I joined in three exciting trecks visiting the surroundings of the quarries which produced the yallow, black, and red marbles used to build Siena cathedral. This was preceeded by a guided and highly rewarding visit to the cathedral. We were led to discover unsuspected, magic landscapes, and to gain some grasp of their complex geological history. The trecks were very varied and included walking up a mountain ridge, ascending a riverbed, encounters with lost ancient villages, descents into narrow caves, all this surrounded by the incomparable Tuscan landscape. We enjoied Guido's expert presentations; his advice and organization were reassuring when we were faced with a challenging situation. An experience to repeat!
I've attended several excursions with Guido and it's always such a wonderful experience!!!
He's extremely competent regarding the whole area around Siena: from Chianti to Le Crete Senesi, from La Montagnola Senese to the Val di Merse, from the Val d'Orcia to the mountain Amiata, and many more natural treasures that this area offers.
He's a highly qualified guide and you can totally rely on him. There's always something new to learn with him and he puts so much passion in what he does.
I'm already looking forward to his next escursion....thank you for doing such a great job Guido!!!
I've been hiking many times with Guido and each time there have been new places to discover, magnificent mountains to klimb, rivers with crystal clear water to swim in, and ancient caves to explore!
Guido is the best in describing the geology of the land, the life of the plants and the interiors of the ancient caves.
Thank you guys! I hope I can join more tours this year!
We spent a day walking in the beautiful surrounds of Siena, in Tuscany. Our guide, Guido, is an all-round expert in trekking and caving, speaks both Italian and English, and his knowledge about the history and nature of the area is matched by a deep love and care for this beautiful land.
Guido provided all the equipment required for our visit of a beautiful limestone cave, and safety was his utmost priority. The caving experience was a nice surprise in an already wonderful walk in the Monte Maggio forests. I strongly recommend 43 parallelo.
